With widespread panic and anger brewing over the initial deadline of 31st January for the old naira denominations of 200, 500 and 1000 naira, several people including the House of reps, Senate and even the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar have called for an extension of date.
The CBN Governor yesterday, decided to pay heed to this call for extension and announced a 10-day extension from the initial date of previous announcement 31st January, to 10th of February, 2023. This grace should allow for people stuck with old notes to be able to get access to new notes.
