Social media was sent into an uproar following a statement of the organizing secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during an interview on Thursday. Mr. Ayodele Adewale who was being interviewed by the Arise TV crew claimed that those bullion vans which were seen entering the residence of Bola Tinubu in 2019 actually missed their way.
It will be recalled that hours before the 2019 presidential election, two bullion vans were seen driving into the 2023 Presidential candidate of the APC home.
Netizens were torn between possible items being driven into the compound with a multitude of crowd littered by the gate of his Bourdillon, Ikoyi mansion. Some insinuating ballot papers, while others insisted it contained cash for vote buying.
Tinubu had one time said the bullion van contained cash.
However, Mr. Ayodele Adewale said Tinubu made that comment as a joke and there was no money inside of the bullion vans. He also insisted that the two vans drove to the house in error as they missed the address.
“The bullion van didn’t move on election day. I was in that house that very day. The bullion van missed the address to have come there. It was not invited by Asiwaju or anybody.
