AfriGO: Nigeria Takes Shot at Mastercard, Visa with Domestic Card

The Central Bank of Nigeria is seeking to take a bite out of the the over $18 billion value that Nigeria’s payment and card market attract which is shared between two behomeths – Visa and MasterCard.

AfriGo is Nigeria’s entrance into a new terrain and becomes the first African country to officially launch a national domestic card.

CBN Governor, Emefiele indicated that this development came about due to the prevailing challenge of forex, and the aim is that AfriGo will begin to bridge all online card transactions, ensuring that the Nigerian national domestic system records these transactions.

Summarily, AfriGO will replace MasterCard, Verve, Visa cards and will successfully do everything you can previously do with those cards.
